Who is Coach Rich?

Oak Tree Running was started with a simple goal in mind: To share the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle with as many people who are interested in making measurable improvements to their fitness.

 

During the course of the last five years I have rediscovered running as a means to mantain not only my overall fitness level but also keep my weight at a more comfortable level. When I started running again I could not run very far or very fast but with the right focus and a little bit of patience the improvements in distance and time became noticable. Additionally, through continual running improvment and basic changes to my diet I was able to lose and keep off approximately 50lbs (225 to 175) and I honestly believe I am the fittest I have been in my almost 50 years.

 

We will work together to design a program that is right for you regardless of where you are on your fitness journey. This is not a high pressure program or relationship rather it will be one of encouragment and support. While making progress will take some hard work and even overcoming some setbacks from time to time it should be done in a way that leaves you feeling a sense of accomplishment and motivated to keep moving forward.

 

This program is open to individuals of all fitness levels (beginner to experienced), all shapes and sizes, and all ages*. Don’t be afraid to try!

Distance or Time Goals
We will help you achieve your running goals whether you are brand new to the sport or a seasoned runner. We can help new runners set realistic and achievable milestones from walking to running a desired distance such as a "couch to 5k". For seasoned runners we will work with your existing base and can help build from there. We can help you increase your mileage and/or running times in a controlled and sytematic way to help you meet your running or racing goals.

Online Coaching
We all lead very busy lives but today online communication and contact makes it possible to build a successful and rewarding coaching relationship. This option consists of frequent e-mail and text communication as well as phone calls when needed. The trend toward online coaching is steadily increasing as it allows individuals more flexibility with time while still allowing them to receive personalized training.

In Person/Group Coaching
This is a combination of online and in person training for individuals or small groups consisting of 3-5 runners. In addition to the online portion of the training we will meet at a local/public park or nearby high school track an agreed number of times in order to conduct an in person training session as well as provide real time and more detailed running feedback.

Static Plan
Based on your running goal (5k, 10k, etc) and your current level of perceived fitness we will develop a plan that will help you meet your goal over a reasonable period of time. We will deliver an easy to read plan that you can implement on your own. This option is simply for the writing and delivery of a plan. Plan adjustments and/or ongoing coaching are not included.
5k Plan $65 // 10k Plan $75 1/2 Marathon Plan $85


Online Coaching - Race Goal
Based on your running goal (5k, 10k, etc) and your current level of perceived fitness we will develop a plan that will help you meet your goal over a reasonable period of time. This is a dynamic/interactive plan and we will make adjustments based on feedback you provide after your workouts. This includes ongoing e-mail and text communication during the agreed training period (e.g. 8 weeks).
5k Plan $130 // 10k Plan $150 1/2 Marathon Plan $175


Online Coaching - Distance and/or Time Goal
If you are currently a runner and are looking to increase your per run/weekly distance or work on improving your running times we will work together to modify your current running schedule and will employ a number of proven techniques/workouts to help meet your goal. This is a dynamic/interactive plan and includes ongoing e-mail and text communication during the agreed training period (e.g. 8 weeks).
$50 Per Month (3 Month Minimum)


In Person Coaching (1-1)
In person coaching is an add on to online coaching. Once you choose your online coaching plan we can together determine if supplemental in person sessions would be beneficial. In these sessions we are better able to comment on factors such as form, breathing, endurance, and pacing.
1 Hour Session $35


Group Coaching
Group Coaching is beneficial for 3-5 runners who would like to achive the same goal in approximately the same amount of time (e.g. couch to 5k). This pakage includes a weekly in person group training session as well as the benefits of those provided via the online coaching plans.
Group Race Plan $150-$200 total plus
$20 per person weekly
