David Kemp has been an avid and competitive runner and cyclist since the early 1990’s. He has competed in over 400 events ranging from running races, cycling races (road races, crits, TTs, and stage races), duathlons, team triathlons, team time trials, century rides, charity rides, and multi-day long distance cycle events. To date, he has logged over 21,000 miles running and over 160,000 miles cycling. In 2000 he qualified for the Duathlon World Championships. In regards to coaching, since 2011 athletes have sought his training advice in preparation for competitive and charity events. As this trend continued he found he enjoyed helping people reach their athletic goals. In early 2016 he completed coaching certification for running through the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and cycling through USA Cycling and now has his own coaching business DSKemp Coaching. In 2017 he added additional certifications: Level II Adult and Youth Running coach as well as “Hunter Allen Certified” training with a power meter. David individualizes training plans and personalizes the coaching services for each client to meet their learning style, training and achievement goals, all while emphasizing safety and reducing risk for injury.
David has a passion for cooking and is a self taught home chef. He loves to entertain family and friends with multi-course meals. Nutrition and healthy-eating is also important to David and a key to a successful athletic lifestyle. He makes his own energy bars and also loves to bake.
