I wear many hats, and I do love a good hat! I am a wife, a mother of 2 boys, a friend, a family member, a business owner, a runner, a home maker, an adventure seeker, and the list goes on.
My road to fitness started a year after my youngest son was born. I was sick of feeling tired. I hated my post-baby giggly bits. I felt like I had lost my self worth. I had enough, and was finally ready to take myself back. Sound familiar?
I started working with a personal trainer. At first, just one day, and then progressed to two days every week. I started running on days I wasn’t strength training, and set a goal of completing the Philadelphia Broad Street 10 mile run. As my body toned up and my eating habits changed to sustain my new habits, I started to feel my self confidence return.
Six months later, I achieved my goal of running that 10 mile race. I had the guts to toe the start line and the endurance and perseverance to cross the finish line.
Since 2012, I have competed in many 200 mile relay style races, completed 5k’s, 10k’s, 15k’s, trail races, and a full marathon!
I took myself back. I got myself healthy; physically & mentally. It took time, but I worked hard and put in the hours. Working out, running, and healthy eating habits are a part of my daily life. Fitness has opened up so many doors to me. I have reconnected with old friends, made new, fell in love with trail running, traveled, found adventure, gained experience, found inspiration, and so much more!
Now, I want to share it with you.
